Dunman High Year 4 students that consistently scores A* for their exams starts off their path to academic excellence with a strong fundamental knowledge of Mathematics and a lot of hardwork and persistence.
Secondary IP Mathematics Tutor in Punggol has a Tuition class for Year 4 students which consists of lectures and tutorials that train them from basics and moves onto advanced questions. IP Classes are based on understanding concepts and where that topic can be applied to when they reach tertiary education. It is a fairly fun and challenging class where they learn about their own abilities and weaknesses. We make sure they come from a position of strength and develop their capabilities, improving their studying skills and coping with the demands that their IP course throws at them.
In this class, our Dunman High students are revising for their End of Year examinations, right after their periodic assessments which they logged in a Grade A for their A Math paper. However, the difference for Year 4 EOY examinations are the need to cover all topics from Year 1-4, as if its the GCE O levels examinations requirements before they get their streaming to attend A level classes during Year 5/6.
This cohort is about 2 weeks ahead of schedule, and needs to start on Integration (Advanced Techniques) before their school teaches it as there will be hardly time to do any revision for their EOY examinations. Their school schedule will be tight but we make sure they will complete the syllabus and have enough time to revise before that.

Today’s Primary 5 Science class, Mr Wong teaches Electricity- Conductors and Insulators (including the materials graphite, water, mercury and gold.) We talked about how dangerous it is with water, using a pacemaker for our heart, how is an electric light bulb is made, and how we heat water and cook food using electricity.
Electricity is taught and student watching a video How a lightbulb is made on an ipad.We go through the questions and makes sure they understand where they got wrong, so students don’t make that error again in our Mathematics Tuition.Students can sometimes get confused with the clock for am/pm and also the 24 hour convention, especially for 60 mins to hour and also from previous day to next day time calculations. We train students to stop making careless mistakes, and have a system of checks during examination to make sure they do not stumble for their crucial PSLE
Primary 6 tuition for Mathematics is preparing for PSLE examination 2016. This Mathematics class is doing Paper 1, and we are focusing on getting quality right answers instead of speed for today. Tendency to rush through and making mistakes is one problem with this class that we are trying to eradicate. So instructions for these 3 students are: read carefully, double check, calculate properly and pick the right MCQ options.
Upon completion, take the remaining  checking and thinking tangentially to make sure they have the right methods.
Every mark counts and we aim for full marks doing Paper 1 Mathematics.

Mathematics Tuition classes for Primary and Secondary classes today as we focus on examination questions and problem sums. Here’s what happened in class today.
SECONDARY GCE O Level Class
eduKate Secondary Mathematics Tuition Classes at Punggol Singapore for GCE O level examination preparation.
Our Secondary class are specific for O level students in preparation for the GCE O level finals. They have come a long way since the beginning of the year and are currently working on past year exam papers. Spending time remembering the techniques and working on only the hardest sums when our tutor Mr Wong is around means that they get guidance and a fallback when they hit a tough question and cannot resolve it.
For Additional Mathematics, it is important to cover all the topics since Secondary 3, which is quite a lot of details to remember and complete before the GCE O levels comes along. Secondary 4 students in this class have spent most of this year learning, but as of June, they will complete their syllabus with us and start on their Mathematics revision, making sure they keep everything fresh in their memory. Along with that schedule, they will have to embark on attempting past year papers, both GCE O level Ten Year Series, as well as past year local school preliminary papers.
This represents the bulk of the work that requires students to spend hours preparing before they go for their GCE O level examinations, but an essential part to make sure they fully prepare themselves to get A1 for their examinations. We practice on coverage, technical details, memorisation, accuracy in calculation and speed. During these lessons, we make sure the students do not make any silly mistakes, identify it and make them remember where the common mistakes and pitfalls are.
So today’s lessons, the students did most of the trigonometry questions, including bearings, 3D figures for E Maths, and for Additional Mathematics, Quadratic Equations and Range of Values of a graph. Including drawing of curves and transformation.
Primary 4 Mathematics
For the Primary Mathematics, this is a Primary 4 class and is working on problem sums for Age, which involves questions regarding the differences on two persons ages and how to find out the age of an individual. It is relatively new concepts for these Primary 4 students doing Mathematics, but once they understand the mechanics, they will be able to start solving sums and evolutions of these sums, especially good foundation for their future work for Primary 5 and PSLE Mathematics that will need this solid foundation.

Our tutors preparing for classes
Tutor Yuet Ling in the office preparing for classes and printouts. That amount of paper is just for tomorrow’s Primary Tuition Classes, and it is partly class work and homework as the end of year primary school examinations are around the corner.
As the students are nearing the End-of-Year Primary Examinations, we prepare them and make sure they clear a few papers before attempting their own school examinations. Other than the usual classes where our tutors teach students the whole syllabus and also real world applications of what they learn, (we usually teach them out of the box thinking) we have to give them some experience on tacking examinations and advice primary students on where they can improve.
This is where tutor Yuet Ling prepares classes and makes sure our students comes to a prepared class and things gets done without wasting any time. We also make sure our students feels confident attempting their own examinations and have them performing at their best.
NURTURING YOUR CHILD TO BE FORWARD-THINKING INDIVIDUALS OF THE 21ST CENTURY ARE THE AIM OF OUR CLASSES.
And we are definitely very different to other tuition centres in Singapore, in an absolutely brilliant way, so do come along and see what we mean. It might change you and your child’s perception in learning and education.

How to get A1 for GCE O level. Our Sunday classes during the end of the year are specifically reserved for our O’level and PSLE students as we run through full past year examination papers to gain speed and stamina. By now, we have covered every topic of the syllabus and are in the training phase, making sure candidates are well prepared and can last the duration.
eduKate Singapore GCE O level student preparing for their E Math Preliminary school exams.
Our Sunday classes work on:
speed
stamina
extended hours lesson
managing workflow
analysing thought processes
exposure to diverse questions
limiting silly mistakes
studying and examination strategies
stress management
Also, their preliminary exams are around the corner, a usual after National Day. That shall help them to gain an insight to how they can improve, and we as tutors makes sure they learn from their mistakes and get a better foothold in the month long actual O’level itself. It is all about time management and pacing themselves from here on, and we do need to give them properly useful advice to make sure they are fully aware of all the pitfalls and grapple with the increasing stress levels the GCE O’ levels brings.
Sunday classes are usually extended duration classes, and our students are required to complete 3-4 hours of work in one sitting. It is a complete examination training session and individual discovery with a tutor to guide them. We monitor their motion and thought processes, take into account and analyse their workflow and techniques employed and then we sit them down and discuss areas that they need to work on to improve. We reduce any errors that can be made, with Murphy’s Law banished. We aim for A* and A1 in our students, and they will come about to achieve that when they feel confident that they enter the examination halls knowing nothing will go wrong. And if anything does go wrong, they are well prepared and equipped to handle the situation.
Give us a call at Yuet Ling +65 8222 6327 for these PSLE and GCE O’levels Sunday classes.
Cheers.
