Primary 6 PSLE Mathematics Final Preparatory Class

The PSLE preliminary internal school examinations results are back and our students scores from 80-90 percent, which is a success for this year’s cohort. The students that started our classes at the beginning of the year has a score of 55-70 so their PSLE Preliminary school results have improved by an aggregate of approximately 20 percentile. That is a three/four grade jump and we are so proud of their handwork and perseverance so far this year.

The most important thing in our tutorial lesson is to get our kids to enjoy their classes, and start on a strategy to improve, based on their individual strengths. We identify their weakness and eliminate them on per-student basis.

No two students are ever the same, have the same problems or even studying the same things, at the same time, at the same speed. That means we customise our classes to each individual student according to their needs. Spending time understanding their character is also a very important part of our process.

The PSLE classes are currently going through examination papers, and final revision to capture the last 10/20 percent of their marks, going through topics that they have identified as the remnants of their weaknesses and improving their aggregates a few more percentile.

Sunday Tuition for Mathematics, 7th August 2016

How to get A1 for GCE O level. Our Sunday classes during the end of the year are specifically reserved for our O’level and PSLE students as we run through full past year examination papers to gain speed and stamina. By now, we have covered every topic of the syllabus and are in the training phase, making sure candidates are well prepared and can last the duration.

Our Sunday classes work on:

analysing thought processes
exposure to diverse questions
limiting silly mistakes
studying and examination strategies
stress management

Also, their preliminary exams are around the corner, a usual after National Day. That shall help them to gain an insight to how they can improve, and we as tutors makes sure they learn from their mistakes and get a better foothold in the month long actual O’level itself. It is all about time management and pacing themselves from here on, and we do need to give them properly useful advice to make sure they are fully aware of all the pitfalls and grapple with the increasing stress levels the GCE O’ levels brings.

Sunday classes are usually extended duration classes, and our students are required to complete 3-4 hours of work in one sitting. It is a complete examination training session and individual discovery with a tutor to guide them. We monitor their motion and thought processes, take into account and analyse their workflow and techniques employed and then we sit them down and discuss areas that they need to work on to improve. We reduce any errors that can be made, with Murphy’s Law banished. We aim for A* and A1 in our students, and they will come about to achieve that when they feel confident that they enter the examination halls knowing nothing will go wrong. And if anything does go wrong, they are well prepared and equipped to handle the situation.

eduKate goes to Kazakhstan and London

eduKate Tuition Centre is in London, UK and Almaty Kazakhstan for November 2015. Part of our operation are at our partner’s training centre in Almaty, Kazakhstan and another in UK doing their R&D and upgrades to curriculum for year 2016.

Our annual end-of-the-year programme this year is a bit special. We are meeting our overseas students and our partners at Almaty. We are also in London, Cambridge, Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford and Manchester to do our R&D. We are looking at upgrades to our curriculum and we are very interested in getting some expertise in internet education which will fit in nicely with our partners that are interested in our training sessions online.
